The Blackening Company is the alias adopted by New Zealander James Reid for his role as professional photo retoucher. But the project has drawn our attention is a personal work by James called Polygon Heroes. A series of illustrations in which the artist portrays different fictional characters from the comic and television by spot color shapes structures. The result of this artwork Cubist Batman, Optimus Prime, Wonder Woman or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (to name but a few) is really striking.
