The Hives are back and it’s something that makes me very happy. “Go Right Ahead” is the song that marks the return of the Swedes after five years without releasing a new album. It is the fifth album by the band called “Lex Hives” and will release on 4 June.

The song takes us back to The Hives so intense and catchy as ever. The album was produced by the band and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele), D. Sardy (Marilyn Manson, Slayer) and Joe Zook (Weezer, Modest Mouse).
According account Pelle Almqvist, lead singer of the band, the video was recorded at the Rixmixningsverket (owned by Benny Andersson of ABBA). “It’s in the center of Stockholm and made us an offer we could not refuse. We were the first band that recorded there”, he says. “We put a lot of cameras to record the album while doing so everything would look more realistic than the usual rock videos”.
“We needed extra hands and mouths to help in various parts of the song. People very close to us did and were seen during the video. Even Randy Fitzsimmons can be seen across the study window with a mask”, says the singer.
Randy Fitzsimmons is known as the “sixth Hive”, has never made public appearances and is recognized as the brain songwriter for the band. Rumor has it is a fictional character, something that denies the band at all costs.
The Hives will be performing in Madrid and Barcelona on 1 and 2 December in theaters Riviera and Sant Jordi Club with his album “Lex Hives”.
