Although we must wait until 5 June for the WIXIW release, the sixth album by Liars, the band has advanced a video for one of their new songs, No. 1 Against The Rush. The video recreates, in a cinematic language very close to the thriller genre, the adventures of a middle-aged man who works in the morning in a laundry and kidnap people in the night. The three band members portray victims who end up in the back of the van driven by the insane who hides under the guise of the protagonist of the video stream. As the story moves towards its surreal end, the slow pace of No. 1 Against The Rush slips seamlessly between sequences, showing a very different view from the more experimental side to which we are accustomed in Liars music. The video was shot in Los Angeles under the direction of Todd Cole, who had worked for other musical artists like Kurt Vile and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
