Nada Surf – When I Was Young

Nada Surf released their new album “The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy” (Ernie Records, 2012) the past Jan. 23, the title is from Matthew Caws’s father, Peter Caws (Professor of Philosophy) often used in his speeches at the university to mean that you have to have some humility about our knowledge, “we can not be one hundred percent sure of ourselves”.

It’s the seventh album of the New York band, for this album has changed the approach when recording, with the intention of getting closer to how they sound faithfully in his essays or live, were installed in the Loft of Daniel Lorca to record the new songs as soon as possible not to lose freshness. For this new album they count with Doug Gillard (Guided By Voices), guitarist guest of the last tour and the current one. The album was produced by Chris Shaw (Wilco, Brendan Benson, Elvis Perkins in Dearland …).

“When I Was Young” is the first video from his new album and was directed by Phil Harder.

Nada Surf will be in Spain:

February 17. Sala Capitol. Santiago de Compostela.

February 18. La Riviera. Madrid.

February 19. Apolo. Barcelona.
