Bryan Schutmaat is an american documentary photographer is a degree in History at the University of Houston. His work focuses mainly on portraying rural America, identity and the inhabitants of small towns in a poetic way, reflecting landscapes and interiors in solitary sleeping cities and environments. He claims that his images are not meant to be a pure documentary work hard, but rather a portrait of American identity means to him. His last series of the gray of the mountain sent is a combination of portraits and landscapes taken in small towns and mountain mining communities in the American West.
